Dana Goodman holds a Master of Arts degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Clark University, and a bachelor’s degree in Cinema Studies and Italian from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Dana is a poet with an extensive body of work who is now “coming out of the closet” with her writing. She has published short poems on Twitter under the handle @dana_dreamgirl, and has published scifi genre fan fiction on the website WattPad under the alias Odd Octopus. Dana has been working on her first chapbook, “Renaissance City Roast”, a themed collection about the café scene in Providence, Rhode Island. Kiss of a “can’t have you” lover
memory sparked
in late night mind chatter.

Poetry jam in a New York dive bar
I think I ordered whiskey.

Accidental moment
the dark hallway trapped us
before you/or I had to leave
I stood on the street
in jeans with mouth quivering
rainshine pavement
showing me my stunned heart.

I stumbled through puddles
mind abuzz with indiscretion
I never thought those feelings
would slap us
like guilty children
but still our faces stung.
We are forbidden.
We knew this.
